Rajim is one of Chhattisgarh's most important pilgrimage centres and is known as the "Prayagraj of Chhattisgarh" because of the confluence of the Mahanadi, Pairi, and Sondur rivers. The town is home to the ancient Rajiv Lochan Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, which is noted for its beautiful stone carvings and historic architecture. Rajim has long been a gathering place for pilgrims, especially during the annual Rajim Kumbh. After the monsoon, the rivers are full, and the temple surroundings become particularly scenic. The blend of history, faith, and riverside views makes Rajim a rewarding day trip from Raipur.

Once a thriving centre of Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jainism, Sirpur is among the most important archaeological sites in Central India. Formed by the Indravati River, Chitrakote Falls is the largest waterfall in Chhattisgarh and one of the widest in India. Its distinctive horseshoe shape has earned it the nickname "Niagara of India." During and after the monsoon, vast volumes of water plunge nearly 30 metres into the river below, creating mist, rainbows, and spectacular views. Sunrise and sunset are particularly beautiful from the viewpoints around the falls. Visitors can also take traditional boat rides that approach the base of the waterfall when conditions permit.

Located within Kanger Valley National Park, Kotumsar Cave is one of India's best-known limestone cave systems. The cave contains impressive stalactite and stalagmite formations created over thousands of years. Deep inside lies a naturally formed structure resembling a Shivalingam, which holds religious significance for local communities. The cave is also home to a rare species of blind albino fish found in its underground pools. Visitors enter through a narrow opening and descend into a cool subterranean environment unlike anything seen above ground. Access may be restricted during and immediately after the monsoon season.

Stretching through the forests of Bastar, Kanger Valley National Park is known for its rich biodiversity, limestone caves, waterfalls, and river valleys.
